Connecting Communities (CC) is here to help local residents, whose main language is Polish, Lithuanian or Russian, to access services, to help local service providers improve access to their services and to support integration.

CC runs 1-1 sessions from Bognor Regis CAB offices on Wednesdays from 2pm – 7pm. These are the information (not advice) sessions for Polish, Lithuanian and Russian speaking community members, who cannot communicate well enough in English. CC provide information, help with filling in forms, translation of letters and signposting and supported access to appropriate services.

Depending availability CC also support CAB advisors and interpret over the phone or in person during the gateway and advice sessions at Bognor Regis CAB.

CC also provide over the phone interpreting for local organisations including ADC Housing Options, Housing Benefit and Environmental Health staff as well as front line staff working at Bognor Regis Town Hall and Arun Civic Centre receptions.

Other interpreting appointments may be made in an emergency by negotiation with the team but will be dependent on the team’s workload at that time. In addition CC provide written translations for  documents.:

Polish – Tuesday & Thursday
Lithuanian/Russian – Monday & Tuesday
Latvian/Russian – Friday

Visit their new website which includes an information pack giving basic information to enable new residents coming into the Arun area to live, learn, work and play safely.

It has been created in response to the identified needs of the community and includes translations in Bulgarian and Romanian as well.
