Updates from BGLC

We have managed to double the occupancy of the centre and continue to look fro potential users who would benefit from these resources.

Current Learning Centre Users
The Learning Centre continues to be used by :-

The Trees Residents Association organise a tea and chat group, a craft group, a bingo session and gentle keep fit. These groups successfully engage vulnerable and isolated groups promoting social interaction.

Dream Dance provides expert tuition in performing arts to all age groups, pre-school (tap, jazz, modern and ballet). This is an impressive non-profit making approach providing affordable training to help people develop creatively in an area of deprivation.

Step by Step now delivers Line Dancing which provides healthy cardio vascular exercise in dance form and is being increasingly enjoyed by its growing group of supporters.

The U3A (University of the Third Age). The learning centre is now successfully being used as a venue to learn flower arranging.

Gentle Keep Fit provides healthy cardio vascular exercise for the elderly.

Chichester Lymphoedema Support Group provide Zumba sessions for sufferers of Lymphoedema and have booked the venue six months in advance.

Computer Club this is aimed at elderly people who would like to engage with new technology and forms of communication.

The Fundraising Hub runs training courses in fundraising at the centre to support members and local charities.

The Future
Once the planned upgrades to the computer suite are complete and the Internet is re-enabled we will approach the U3A again to promote this facility. I am in contact with Family Mosaic who manage Bersted Green Court and many other residencies on the South Coast. They have expressed interest in using the Learning Centre. I am attending one of their meetings to promote the centre.
